When to Call Flood Repair Contractors in Encino
Everyone knows to call flooding professionals when you see the clear signs of flooding we know from television and movies: water above your feet, water roaring through your home or commercial building, that kind of thing. However, there are other, perhaps more subtle signs that let you know you should contact USA Restoration flooding professionals. By contacting us when you see these signs, it can keep your home or other types of building from suffering even worse damage.
If you see water in a crawl space or behind a wall, it’s time to call the professionals. The reason for that is simple: if the water gets in there, then it almost assuredly got in somewhere else, too. You also want to check to see if the water touches your drywall. If it’s seeped into there, then you can rest assured that the water damage has become a problem that’s beyond the ability of a person to fix themselves. By calling in our professionals, you’re not just protecting your home or commercial establishment, you’re protecting your investment, too.
Simple rule of thumb: if you see a pool of water somewhere in your home and you don’t know where it’s come from, contact the pros. The longer you let standing water simply stand there, the worst things can get. See, that standing water may seem like it’s just standing still, but what it’s really doing is incubating bacteria, viruses and worse. The longer it sets, the greater a health concern it can be. USA Restoration flood damage restoration pros can take care of the standing water in such a way that takes care of your property as well.
How we Help
It’s important to note that many of flooding events are covered by homeowner’s insurance. To be clear, you won’t have to deal with that on your own. We’ll work with you. Just as no one was really prepared for flooding, no one is ready to deal with the insurance company, either. So, we’ll walk you through the process, talking to you and your insurance company if necessary. While every insurance situation is different and we can’t make guarantees, we do have a proven track record of assisting our customers in having easy, effective dealings with their insurance company.
Each of our employees has all of the necessary certifications to legally and professional perform water damage mitigation. Not only have they passed these tests, they have done with flying colors. Backed by years of experience, they can help to lessen the effects of the flood damage. Licensed, bonded and insured, our USA Restoration experts can take you through all steps of flood remediation. We can always show you our portfolio, too. Of course, our portfolio isn’t just in pictures: it’s homes and commercial buildings all over the area that we helped recover from floods over the years.
Beyond simply having the right staff, we have the right tools for the job, too. Seemingly every year, new technology comes out that helps with water damage restoration. Instead of just relying on the same technology year after year, we make sure that our pros are trained on all of the new advancements as well. That way, we offer our customers better flood damage restoration services every year. We did a great job in the past with the tools that were available then. Now, we’ll do an even better job with everything that’s available today.
Sources of Flood Damage
When people hear “flood damage,” their first thought is that the source of the flood is a river or creek. That’s not always the case, particularly here in southern California. Sure, we have dealt with the aftermath of plenty of lakes and rivers flooding, but that’s far from the only way that waters can rise here in SoCal. However, when you’re in the midst of flooding in your home or commercial establishment, it may not matter to you – you just want the flood fixed and your building restored. That’s where we come in at USA Restoration.
No matter how your home or commercial building has come to be flooded, we can help. Perhaps your water heater went wrong. We’ve helped so many people to deal with flooding that comes from their plumbing leaking or otherwise going bad. Sump pumps fail all the time. Do you have all kinds of appliances in your home, like toilets, dishwashers, garbage disposals, washing machines and more? They can each be the cause of flooding. When they cause your flooding, USA Restoration can return your home to how you would like it to be.
Water damage often follows fire damage. Many of our clients are people who had a fire, and then the firefighters caused quite a bit of water damage in the course of fighting the blaze. That’s perfectly understandable (and infinitely preferable to your place burning down) but when it happens, you need someone who knows what they’re doing to come by and get your building back to how you want it. At USA Restoration, our track record speaks for itself. Your home or commercial establishment is too important to be left to amateurs, or those who are just starting out.
Beware the Dark Water
If you’ve read these blogs for any length of time, then you know how we often harp on the three different kinds of water. There’s a reason for that: it’s critically important for our customers to know what kinds of water are less safe than others. Of course, no matter how clear or clean the water is, you want to contact our USA Restoration experts as soon as you realize that the flooding has started. That way, we can get a faster start on restoring your home.
Clean Water, or as it’s also known, “Category 1,” is the least dangerous of the three kinds of water. This is water that floods from a clean water source (a plumbing supply line and so forth). Grey Water (or Category 2) is less sanitary, with all kinds of contaminants and chemicals that can make you sick. You may know this involves urine from toilet bowls, but it can also include a waterbed that’s punctured, or a fish tank that’s overturned. You don’t want to ingest or be around this water, as it can be dangerous. Moreover, if left unchanged, it will become Category 3, Black Water. This is the kind of water that you want to avoid at all costs. This includes sewage and water that’s similarly toxic. To be clear, any and all water that comes from streams, rivers or lakes is absolutely Category 3. You need to contact the professionals as soon as possible when that happens.
We know that you didn’t choose to have your home become flooded. That’s why we’re always available. When you get hit with flooding, when Category 3 water is coursing through your home, you have absolutely no time to waste whatsoever. Our flooding repair experts can come to your home or commercial establishment, figure out what the problem is, and then embark on a clearly defined plan to fix it.
